Brightness of Sun lives up earth,

Bharti Airtel closes on Kuwaiti Zain assets
by Hemz on Feb.18, 2010, under Indianomics, Information Technology and Communications
Bharati Airtel’s hunt for inorganic growth this time around has come to an halt at the Kuwait based Zain group’s assests in the African continent excluding Sudan and Morocco. This move comes after facing two failed deals with African major MTN, whose deal size would have ranged from 20 to 25$ billion.
Reports suggest that Bharati is offering 10$ Billion for all of Zain’s assets except Morocco and Sudan. The valuations are out there with out any supporting evidence of the actual value and the premium justification. Bharati says that it values the Zain assets at $12 Billion which seems absurd.
Praise them and kick them

The Media is seemingly playing games. I fail to understand that why are they doing this. Yesterday, the Star News show “Shaaramnak” was just more pathetic as anything worse can be.
Ofcourse there was a reason to worry but why such hysteria? India has lost many test matches and the team has failed before too. When they win, they just keep blabbering about how each individual performed but when they loose, they will poop each individual player.
Now if Sachin has hit a century and he couldn’t help turn India’s fortunes, who is to blame? Well, if you go by how the Indian Media behaves then you would be in for a surpirse. First they blamed the master blaster himself.
Why Sachin created hopes in Billions of Indians about a turn of tide and filed to finish it?
To which I would politely reply: Creating hopes is better than not even doing something.
Why can you take the sport lightly, without creating hatered. See the guy who blew the top order and appraise his performace rather than creating much fuss about the non performance. Why cant you?
A for Elephant and B for Dog – Remembering Navin Mama
by Hemz on Feb.06, 2010, under Personal
This is what an uncle in my home town used to tease me. Knowingly that I get irritated and walk to him and teach him that he was wrong. My 4 year old mind never realized it then that he wanted me to come close to him and play with him…
He was not a relative, but someone who maintained a relationship that went beyond the designation of a relative.
I always argued with him and he loved it. Slowly we turned close and were enjoying eachother’s company. He knew that I liked candies as against Chocolate or any of the Cadburies. When he saw me for the first time, it was during the navaratri festival we used to celebrate in Kerala. I was running here and there and he found me really cute. He picked me up and was looking for my mother. No to hand me over, but to ask whether “can I take him with me forever”.
Such was the affection that I shared with Navin Mama that today I am in deep pain, because he is no longer with us.
He always was fond of children and loved all children in our locality and elsewhere, but for me he was a special person. I pray to god that he rest in peace. Love you mama.
Linguistic Divide
by Hemz on Feb.05, 2010, under City of Dreams, Mumbai, Indianomics
Its been some years now that we are facing this linguistic divide. Tamil Nadu being the first state to give its regional language more importance than the National Language. This still consider that Tamil should have been India’s national language as against Hindi.
However atleast in the name of their language, they had not beaten anyone who reside in their state. Their obsession was only with their language being recognized than not accepting people who dont know the language.
A similar but deadly event similar to this one is what Mumbai is facing now for some 20 years. The son – of – the soil funda is just getting wee bit over. The fact that two sicons of one family are now fighting for the same people from different parties makes things complex. Its very risky to step out today knowing that Rahul Gandhi is visiting Mumbai and he is threatened by Shiv Sainiks goons. The Sainiks & MNS goons have much more control over the Mumbai than even Mumbai Police.
Lets just hope that day passes calm.
